It’s so nice to meet you! My name is Olive and I’m one of the new blog commentators for the Kaikohekohe cluster on The Summer Learning Journey this year! I’m working Teaser Week and I can’t wait to see what you can all your classmates come up with!
Congratulations on completing your first activity! I think it’s so cool you chose to start off with your Pepeha activity! It’s so important to be aware of our families and the local history. Pepehas are great way for blog commentators like me to get to know our students better. Today I really enjoyed reading about where you came from and what local places are special and near you!
What a great job you’ve done on using the recommended template. I hope you found everything easy to access, and that you enjoyed participating in the activity! Just remember it’s important to let your blog readers know where you got your images, or what website you created your blog posts on. Perhaps you could ask a parent, or an older sibling to help you edit your post so you can include the link of the PiktoChart website? I know other participating students will really appreciate that! Kai pai on a great first post!
This year at my university, I also learnt about what a Pepeha is and eventually researched and completed my own. I’ve put it here so you can learn more about me!
Ko TSS Earnslaw te waka Ko Orakei te moana Ko Maungakiekie te maunga Ko Tatimana te iwi Ko Te Aka Matua ki Te Pou Hawaiki te Marae Ko Olive tōku ingoa
I learned a lot about my family history. It was really interesting finding out all this information! Did you find out anything special about your family, or your local areas? Let me know if you did, I can’t wait for your reply!
Keep participating in the activities, you’re doing a great job so far! What one has been your favourite? Remember the official start of The Summer Learning Journey is 16th December (Next week) so be sure to get online and check all the activities out! There’s lots of points at stake and some great prizes to win!
Thank you again for your great blog post, I’m looking forward to see what else you come up with this week!
Ngā mihi, Olive
